as always, we had our traditional visit on cinco de mayo to the park/bridge where we got married.

it's quite the understatement to say i am behind on pictures. these are from april, on or around nathaniel's 2nd birthday.

i have a major photo backlog. i updated some more mexico pictures (see the ETA on the mexico posts 2 down from this one) - i thought they were missing from the camera but later discovered them.

and here are some more from the winter.
nathaniel rockin' out at a playdate. this guitar looks cool, but was the most annoying/loud thing and i eventually enticed it away from him. it just had a push button that played a loud pre-recorded riff every time you pushed it (and you KNOW how toddlers love to push buttons over and over again)

the birthday party had a karaoke room, but this picture is just for looks. nathaniel was too intimidated to actually sing with a song, but he was very interested in all the equipment


every time we go to a playground, N only wants to "drive". i am always trying to interest him in the slides, but driving holds the key (haha) to his heart. i should just embrace his interests, but the driving is so boring! that said, this is, i think, my favorite picture of him to date:

oh, the longing! he only wanted to drive and this kid was not so keen to give it up. he eventually got his turn, but it was when all the other kids were in another area doing circle time.

2 years ago, you were a little purple and they whisked you away before i got to absorb what you looked like, and then you were obscured by tubes and tape and a medicated glaze in your eyes. it was 5 days before i got to hold you. *sniff*

now you are such a laughing, smiling, engaging creature, and i get to hold you every day.


it's been quite a ride. i'm enjoying seeing you unfold. love you, little one.

we just got back from mexico (same place as last year) a few days ago and we're settling in. i'm thankful we escaped a few snowstorms, but it's nice to be in the cooler weather again. we definitely enjoyed the beach & seeing friends while we were down.

it's cool to see nathaniel doing some of the same things he did last year, but so much bigger.

i jokingly refer to this craft as bleach huffing, because it can get pretty fumey. i had some people over to craft, and made a few valentine's themed shirts for nathaniel. originally i planned to make one valentine's shirt, but i was a little disappointed in the results of the first so i made a 2nd.

i flew with nathaniel recently to visit friends and family in texas. a good time was had by all.

my sister's cat, olive ("ovive") was such a good sport with him. she endured countless repeats of "cat....hug"
